The Arrival

M-C Tiny arrived on Monday, May 10th at 1:16pm.

Mama was admitted to the hospital for induction on Sunday night. I was given some "ripener" and a sleeping pill and sent to bed. Corky went home to get his last good night's sleep for this lifetime. The sleeping pill made me feel like I had the spins. I turned on Deadliest Catch to try to sleep but that, needless to say, did not help the woozy feeling I was having. I turned it off and dozed until about 4am when contractions started. I called Nick at 520a when my water broke and I decided I needed some back up (he had planned on being back at 6a).

They hooked me up to some pitocin - I breathed through some serious contractions imagining myself far away on Chases Lake in a kayak. I knew ahead of time I was going to require an epidural and the anesthesiologist hooked me up with some just as I was sure my insides were going to explode out of my body. All I could feel was pins and needles.

My nurses switched shifts and the new nurse decided the baby was facing the wrong way so she suggested I lay on my belly on some ice. Easier said than done when you can't feel your legs.

Dr. Miller came in and it was GO TIME. Corky held my hand and there were a total of 3 doctors and 1 nurse helping me push M-C Tiny out. Just when I decided I couldn't do it any longer they said ONE MORE and out into the world she came. 6lbs, 9oz, 19.25 inches long.

perfection.

strong

M-C Tiny's kicks shake my belly now. Sometimes I just sit around and watch and feel. She is going to be super strong. In so many ways.

kick backs

M-C Tiny wants to play already. Yesterday I went to the walk-in clinic due to some body aches and chills. After they checked my heart beat they had to check hers, too. She felt the pressure of the Doppler and kicked back. Then continued to kick for about 5 minutes. It felt like she was saying "hey! hey, you, wanna play? i wanna play. we could dance, or maybe do kick boxing?" heehee.

giggling

I might forget to tell her this when she is 15 but she's made me giggle since she was just a few weeks in my womb. Thinking about her just makes me laugh. We're gonna have such a blast.

Kiss Me I'm...

Okay, technically she's a British isles/German mutt but they don't make bibs that say that.

dance party

M-C Tiny loves to dance. About every other day she has a one woman dance party in my uterus. Apparently, she dances like her mother flailing her legs and arms all around. Just practicing for GrassRoots someday.

M-C Tiny

The adventure actually began in the middle of August, but we'll spare you the details. The long and short of it is M-C Tiny is on her way to this world and we busy ourselves preparing for her arrival.

We are starting this blog so that our tribe of people near and far can be witness to the spectacle of our lives with M-C Tiny.

She might be tiny, but her mama sure isn't these days.

01-01-2010... the first day of the year that our little girl will come into this world and turn our lives upside down forever. Not that she hasn't already...

we already love you, z-girl.
